We are excited that you have chosen to join us in 2021 as a member to the Napa Valley State Parks Association!

2020 was a challenge!  With the global shut-down from COVID-19, Napa Valley’s State Parks were not immune.  The Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park has been closed since March and the campgrounds and picnic areas at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park have opened and closed in sync with our favorite restaurants and shops.  Combine with the two major wildfires in the up-valley, the Hennessy and Glass Fires, our trail system was damaged as well, leading to trail closures, when those trails were needed most.

That all being said, the Napa Valley State Parks Association, through the incredible support of our community was able to find volunteers and donations to supplement the loss of income from the COVID closures and to re-open a majority of our trails in a timely manner.  It is only through your support through your membership and in donations that our State Parks remain open and accessible.

We also had great success in 2020.  Our own Rob Grassi was awarded the Preservationist of the Year with Merit from Napa Valley Landmarks for his work in restoring the Great Water Wheel at the Bale Grist Mill.  This project, funded through a private donor, took a year to complete.  We can’t wait to show it to you when the Mill reopens.

Your continued support of the Napa Valley State Parks Association is critical to our success.  While owned by the State of California, our parks do not receive any State funding for operations or upkeep. As a thank you, we will send you an annual membership card which gives you free access to the Bale Grist Mill and Bothe-Napa Valley State Park.  Robert Louis Stevenson State Park is free to access.
