Eco-Fitness Hikes: 2nd Saturday Monthly

Do you love fitness and the beautiful outdoors? Join fitness instructor Kerry Brackett for a great hike/workout through lovely Bothe State Park. This one-hour class will be held the second Saturday of each month, beginning April 13th at 9:00 AM. As we hike through the redwoods, Kerry will offer a variety of exercises to work the whole body! She will finish with additional core exercises and stretches. 

This class will be complementary to NVSPA members or a $10 day use/parking fee for non-members.

Volunteer Orientation & Open House – April 27, 2024

Discover a world of volunteering opportunities at CA State Parks and Napa Open Space District parks! At our Volunteer Orientation and Open House, you’ll have the chance to:

  • Learn about the various volunteer roles available, from trail maintenance to visitor services.
  • Connect with our passionate and dedicated current volunteers to learn about their experiences and projects.
  • Engage in interactive training workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Sign up for projects that match your interests and availability, whether it’s a one-time cleanup event or a long-term project.

Join us on April 27th from 10 am to 2 pm at Bothe-Napa Valley State Park to kickstart your volunteering journey and make a meaningful impact in your community and environment!

Pancake Breakfast – May 4, 2024

Join us for our annual family-favorite breakfast outing! Sit outside on a warm spring morning as the old water wheel turns and enjoy a stack of whole-wheat pancakes topped with syrup, a side of fresh-cut fruit, breakfast sausage, and your choice of beverage.

Harvest Dinner – September 28, 2024

The Napa Valley State Parks Association welcomes you to our annual Bale Grist Mill Harvest Dinner and Live Auction. The event promises to be an enchanting night filled with live music, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live auction bidding, and a delicious dinner catered by Elaine Bell. You’re invited to attend and support the association’s efforts to preserve and maintain the beautiful state parks located in Napa Valley.

Online Auction – September 1, 2024 to September 27, 2023

Bid big and bid often and help us support our State Parks in Napa County. Your support means the protection, preservation and enhancement of our 175 year old Bale Grist Mill, fire recovery efforts for Bothe-Napa Valley and Robert Louis Stevenson Parks and enhanced trails and outdoor programming!

Old Mill Days – October 12 & 13, 2024

At the Old Mill Days event, visitors can participate in traditional farm chores, such as corn husking, wheat threshing, butter making, and apple pressing, as well as watch artisans showcase their craft, including blacksmithing and lace making. The event also features period-correct clothing worn by mill docents. Admission is $5 per person, and children under 2 are free.

Opt-Outside for Green Friday – November 29, 2024

Green Friday is a celebration that takes place the day after Thanksgiving, as an alternative to the consumer-driven Black Friday. It encourages people to spend time outdoors in nature, while also getting some exercise. Bothe-Napa Valley State Park is one such place where people can take part in this movement. By mentioning the code “GREEN FRIDAY” at the entrance kiosk, visitors can get a 50% discount on day-use entry fees.

Old Mill Holidays- December 7, 2024

Join in on the holiday fun at the Bale Grist Mill’s 19th-century celebration! Enjoy pioneer-style activities like making clove pomanders and wreaths, stringing popcorn and cranberries, and writing letters to Santa. Kids can decorate gingerbread cookies and cut paper snowflakes while you watch demonstrations on lace making, wool spinning, and milling. Cookies and cider will be served, so don’t miss out!
