Parks Association

The Napa Valley State Parks Association is a volunteer-led, nonprofit organization that aims to raise funding and volunteers to support the three California State Parks in the beautiful Napa Valley: Bothe-Napa Valley State Park, the Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park, & Robert Louis Stevenson State Park. Funding raised by the Association is used for various maintenance and improvement projects, including replacing the great wheel on the Bale Grist Mill and sponsoring several outdoor education programs.

Our Parks

Robert Louis Stevenson State Park is 5,272 acres and contains stunning views of Napa, Sonoma, and Lake Counties from the summit of the highest peak in the California Wine Country, Mount St. Helena.

Built in 1846, the Bale Grist Mill was a central piece of life during the early development of the Napa Valley as settlers came to have their grain ground into meal or flour and offers an authentic peek into Californian’s rural heritage.

Located in the beautiful Napa Valley, Bothe-Napa Valley State Park is the perfect getaway and community park. Hike amongst the redwoods, enjoy the creeks and scenery, camp out, picnic, or enjoy the spring-fed swimming pool on a hot summer day!

In April 2012, Napa Open Space District (NOSD) and Napa Valley State Parks Association began operating Bothe-Napa Valley State Park and Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park as park partners. Now, the NOSD operates Bothe-Napa Valley State Park, Bale Grist Mill State Historic Park, and Robert Louis Stevenson State Park. While NVSPA provides financial support to help keep these parks running, both are not-for-profit entities supported by membership, donations, and fundraisers.

The California Department of Parks and Recreation provides for the health, inspiration, and education of the people of California by helping to preserve the state’s extraordinary biological diversity, protecting its most valued natural and cultural resources, and creating opportunities for high-quality outdoor recreation.
